Our Objective:
Data as an Engine for Operational Clarity

Data should not impede corporate agility; it should provide strategic direction, optimise business processes and ground executive decisions upon accurate foundations.

Founded in London in 2006, The Information Lab is one of Europe’s leading specialised partners for Business Intelligence, Data Engineering and visual analytics. Operating in Germany since 2014 from our headquarters in Hamburg, our interdisciplinary team enables mid-market companies and multinational corporate groups to understand, operationalise and embed data permanently within daily workflows.

We build data structures that are technically resilient, intuitively understood by business departments and engineered to drive daily commercial value.

Next Cohort Start

1 March 2027

Application Deadline: 24th November 2026

The programme combines four months of intensive technical training with 25 months of corporate client placements, providing junior talent to augment corporate project teams and build long-term organisational data capability.

Partners & Technology Neutrality

Modern data analytics projects require a robust technological foundation. The Information Lab maintains certified partnerships with market-leading software vendors, including Tableau, Snowflake, dbt, Alteryx, Adverity, Dataiku and Apps for Tableau by Infotopics.

Simultaneously, we evaluate systems tool-agnostically. The selection of software platforms is dictated strictly by your specific use case, existing IT architecture, corporate strategy and the operational teams who will manage the system long-term.

The Information Lab is part of a global consulting network spanning Europe and North America. Our teams collaborate across international borders, sharing technical innovations, architectural blueprints and cross-market field experience.

This structure pairs international bench depth with localised delivery. Clients benefit from specialised subject-matter expertise while working directly with local consultant teams in Hamburg who understand regional market dynamics, communicate in your native language and tailor architectures to your organisational structure.

Our culture underpins our consulting delivery. Collaboration, mutual trust, continuous knowledge sharing and transparent communication define how we interact internally and on client engagements.

We believe effective data solutions emerge where technical depth meets genuine human collaboration. We work closely across roles, office locations and international hubs to bring diverse perspectives to every project.

This collaborative approach guides client relationships: we listen carefully, ask probing questions, explain technical concepts clearly and co-develop solutions alongside your internal teams.

Community Engagement & Social Value

We are committed to applying data capabilities where they generate broader social, educational and environmental value. Through pro-bono initiatives, we assist non-profit organisations, educational institutions and public interest groups in structuring datasets, establishing transparency, and enabling data-backed governance.

News, Events & Community

Data practices are constantly evolving. That is why we regularly share our knowledge, hands-on experience, and fresh perspectives through live events, webinars, community initiatives, and expert articles.

We focus on emerging technologies, project best practices, key developments in BI and analytics, and solving practical, day-to-day data challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions

What strategic approach does The Information Lab follow in data projects?

The Information Lab pairs technical software implementation with strategic advisory and structured workforce enablement. Rather than operating as a passive software reseller, we build resilient data architectures. Our objective is making complex datasets understandable for business departments, operational in daily routines and actionable for executive decision-makers.

Is The Information Lab bound to specific software vendors?

Technology selection is conducted tool-agnostically, aligned with your specific use case, active IT architecture and long-term business goals. We maintain certified, top-tier partnerships with platforms such as Tableau, Snowflake, dbt and Alteryx, guaranteeing deep technical authority during implementation.

What industry and project experience does the consulting team bring?

Delivering over 100 successful projects annually, The Information Lab supports mid-market companies and international corporate groups. Our experience spans retail, pharmaceuticals, logistics, industrial manufacturing, financial services and the public sector. Through our global network of over 350 experts, field-tested best practices continuously inform local client delivery.

What value does The Data School bring to corporate clients?

A shortage of qualified data engineering and analytics talent represents a key bottleneck for corporate growth. Through The Data School, we train high-potential consultants in Data Analytics, Data Engineering and BI Consulting. Clients benefit directly by integrating fully trained Data School Consultants into active project teams to absorb capacity spikes, bridge recruitment gaps and accelerate delivery at predictable commercial rates.

How do you ensure user adoption for newly implemented BI solutions?

A technical data solution yields commercial ROI only when adopted actively by business users. Therefore, workforce enablement and customised training form core components of our methodology. Through structured workshops and Data Literacy initiatives, we equip internal teams to operate, update and expand data products independently.
